• 45ml soy sauce
• 100ml honey
• 1 clove garlic, crushed
• 4-6 Kassler chops or steaks
• 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
• 45ml butter
• 1 onion, chopped
• 500ml finely shredded cabbage
• 2ml fennel seeds
• vegetables in season, to serve
1 Mix the soy sauce, honey and garlic together. Warm in the microwave for a few seconds to melt together. Pour over the chops and leave to stand until ready to cook.
2 Boil the potatoes until soft. Drain and mash.
3 Heat the butter in a saucepan. Sauté the onion until soft. Add the cabbage and fennel seeds and stir-fry until soft. Stir into the mashed potato. Add a little milk if it is too thick.
4 Put the chops onto a baking tray. Cook under the grill for two to three minutes each side. Serve with the mash and seasonal vegetables on the side.
