Give bought candles texture and a touch of romance with this easy technique.
You need
• silicone stamp (available in loose sheets)
• craft paint in the colours of your choice (you can also use stamp ink)
• sponge brush
• a piece of clear Perspex on which to stick the stamp
• double-sided tape
1 Stick the stamp onto the Perspex using double-sided tape.
NOTE You can use anything hard to stick the stamp to, but Perspex is ideal as you can see through it.
2 Dip your sponge brush into the paint and first dab lightly onto paper so that it doesn’t make blotches. Now apply the paint all over the stamp – don’t press too hard with the brush otherwise the paint will go between the letters.
TIP A sponge roller will also work well to apply the paint.
3 Roll the candle over the stamp and repeat until the whole circumference of the candle is covered.
4 Repeat until the whole length of the candle is covered. Leave to dry before using.
