This delicate lacy shade is ideal for a feminine bedroom. Use a low-watt bulb to create soft, romantic lighting.
You will need
• lampshade white lace fabric white lace trim
• white sewing thread
• paper
To sew
1 Draw a paper pattern from the lampshade measurements as given in the black-and-white feather boa lampshade.
2 It is a good idea to sew the lace trim to the main fabric before attaching it to the frame. You can stitch the lace trim to the fabric by hand or machine. Fit the lace fabric to the frame as given in the black-and-white lampshade.
3 As the lace is delicate you must also attach it to the frame on all the panels with several small hand stitches. Depending on the size of the frame, it may be advisable to work these securing stitches at the top, the centre and the lower edge of each panel. These stitches will also keep the lace from stretching out of shape. Carefully snip off all the loose ends.
