1 Cut a piece of batting the same size as each of the four pieces of fabric. Place the fabric wrong side down onto of the batting and iron to fuse. All seam allowances are 1cm. Sew the seam that will run along the length of the tube of both the small and large pieces of fabric. Press seam open.

2 Pin and machine baste the piping to the seam allowance of both circular pieces of fabric, overlapping the one end of the piping over the other end. Pin one circle to the bottom end of the large fabric tube and one to the top end of the small fabric tube. Using a zipper foot sew seam immediately next to the piping.

3 Fold the bottom ends of the zipper tape under and overlap with the top end of the zip. Fold the seam allowance of the lid section to the back and pin the zip in place with the teeth against the fold. Sew the zip in place with top stitching, 2mm from the fold. Pin and sew the opposite side of the zip to the tube section in the same manner.
