Mini lamps

These lamps will ensure the perfect lighting for your table.

You will need
• wine glasses
• tea-light candles
• lampshade template
• illustrations from old books (or suitable giftwrap or scrapbooking paper)
• mediumweight cardboard
• plain white paper
• double-sided tape, scissors and pencil
• fringe trim

To make
1 Photocopy the lampshade template on page 126 in the desired size on mediumweight cardboard and cut out.
2 Make photocopies of your illustrations on plain white paper (or simply use scrapbooking paper or giftwrap) and use the cardboard pattern to cut out lampshades.
3 Stick a piece of double-sided tape onto one side edge of a lampshade, fold it around the wine glass and stick the other side in place over the first one. Glue a fringe trim to the bottom of the shade, if you prefer.
4 Lift up the lampshade, place a tea-light candle in the glass and light it just before the guests arrive.
