Sew fabric lanterns and group them together to create a colourful display.
Choose a variety of prints in different colours to make a bold statement.
Cut a strip of fabric approximately 30cm long by 55cm wide.
With the right sides facing, sew the side seam together so the strip forms a tube shape.
Now fold a narrow casing along the top and bottom edges and topstitch in place.
Insert a strip of wire into the top and bottom casing and bend it to form a neat circle.
Cut two 50cm-long strips of ribbon in a contrasting colour.
Divide the top circle in quarter sections and mark each section with a dressmaking pin.
Sew the ends of the ribbon securely at the markers so the lantern can hang.
