Knit a blanket

If you know plain and purl and can knit a basic square, you can make this blanket.

You need
• Vinni’s Colours Bambi DK in the colours of your choice
• 5mm crochet hook
• darning needle with a large eye

Note We used an organic cotton and bamboo double-knit yarn, but you can also use a pure cotton DK yarn.

The diagram is for a single bed. Adjust the blocks according to the size you want your blanket to be. For texture, we knitted half the blocks one row plain, one row purl (stocking stitch) and the other half only plain (garter stitch).
Sew the blocks together with a loose mattress stitch using a contrasting colour yarn.
Crochet a border around the edges using double crochet (see the diagrams below), also in a contarasting colour.
