Use a piece of leftover wallpaper to line the inside of a drawer as a pretty finishing touch for a cabinet.
You will need
• wallpaper
• wood glue
• paintbrush
• sandpaper
• measuring tape
• craft knife, cutting mat and metal ruler
• pencil
1 Remove the drawer that you wish to line and measure the width and breadth of the drawer’s base.

2 Now measure the depth of the drawer to get the measurements for the side panels. Measure the depth on all the sides, in case they differ.

3 Draw the panels according to your measurements on the back of the wallpaper. Cut them out carefully using a sharp craft knife. Place the various panels in the drawer to check that they fit perfectly. Number the panels on the back so that you don’t mix them up.

4 Sand the inside of the drawer lightly with sandpaper to roughen the surface so the glue will adhere better to it. Wipe off the dust with a clean, dry brush or cloth.

5 Thin the wood glue a little with water and paint a light, even coat over the area on which you are going to stick the first panel.

6 Place the first panel carefully on the glue-coated surface and use your hand to rub it flat from the one side to the other, to remove all the air bubbles.

7 Repeat with the other panels. Make sure your wallpaper fits neatly in the corners.

8 Leave the glue to dry completely before replacing the drawer in the cabinet. TIP If you don’t have any leftover wallpaper, use strong giftwrap to line your drawer.
