Decorate a bare wall

Decorate a bare wall with motifs cut from cardboard boxes.

You will need
• cardboard box sections
• craft knife
• cutting mat
• motif of your choice
• pencil
• wide paintbrush
• white PVA
• newspaper or newsprint
• correction pen

To make
1 Place the cardboard on a flat surface and draw the motifs onto it in pencil. Cut them out.
2 Dip the paintbrush in white PVA then blot it on newspaper until almost dry. Paint the motifs, working in circular  movements. Let the cardboard ridges show through for added texture.
3 Use a correction pen to write a poem or quotation along the edges of the design, or across it, to decorate.
