This rail works well for stairs or to hang your clothes.
You will need
• a branch
• small sponge roller
• enamel paint
• electric drill and masonry drill bit
• two chrome hooks with screws and
• wall plugs
1 Use a branch that fits the available space. Try to find a branch with interesting knots and twists to add character and detail to your de´cor feature, bearing in mind that the branch needs to be straight enough to fit securely into the hook at each end. Use a handsaw to remove protruding sections that could cause injury or spoil the overall appearance.
2 Use a small sponge roller (and a paintbrush for the harder-to-reach areas) to paint the entire branch with a coat of enamel paint. Place the branch on sheets of old newspaper, then paint one side and allow the paint to dry before turning the branch over and painting the other side. Leave to dry, then apply another coat of paint. Apply the paint lightly to ensure a smooth, matt finish. Leave to dry.
3 Hold the branch against the wall and carefully mark the positions for the screws with a pencil.
4 Drill the holes for the screws, insert the wall plugs and screw the hooks into place before inserting the painted branch.
