Use your craft skills to make unique jewellery pieces.
You will need:
- brass chain
- fob clasp
- long-nose pliers
- jump rings
- brass hanging charms
- embroidery needle
- stranded embroidery thread in red, orange and green
- large brass-coloured wooden beads
- glass hanging leaves
- decorative brass beads
- metal flower motifs

To make:
1 Cut a length of chain to fit loosely around your wrist. Cut a second length of chain approximately two links longer. Secure the ends of the chains to the two parts of the fob closure using the pliers and jump rings, to form one large circle.
2 Attach a few brass charms to the shorter part of the chain using pliers and jump rings, spacing the charms evenly.
3 Thread an embroidery needle with three strands of embroidery thread. Insert the needle through the centre of a large wooden bead and secure with a knot. Starting at the end of the bead with the knot, take the thread over the outside and through the middle. Now work another strand approximately 3mm away from the first. Continue in this way until the bead is partially covered with embroidery thread (refer to the photograph). Work the remaining wooden beads in the same way, using different coloured thread.
4 Make charms by threading a glass leaf onto embroidery thread, followed by a decorative brass bead and a metal flower motif. Add a thread-covered wooden bead next, and finish with a flower motif and a decorative brass bead.
5 Continue in this way until all the wooden beads have been worked into hanging threads. Secure the end of the embroidery thread with a jump ring. Attach the hanging charms to the chain with pliers.
6 To complete, place a few glass leaf charms in-between the brass charms and the hanging charms until you are satisfied with the appearance.
